On January 28, in Copenhagen started Fashion Week - the only one in Scandinavia since Stockholm Fashion Week and Oslo Runway stopped functioning last summer, and the first to gain its own council of sustainable development consultants. The Council includes fashion experts from all over the world, their purpose is not only to view new collections, but also to raise environmental health issues. In addition, the Nordic Fashion Week will comply with the principles of the United Nations in the field of sustainable development. Already now all the shows are organized with maximum environmental responsibility, and brands are subject to the most strict requirements. It's not just clothing that matters, but how it's created.
All these initiatives are implemented in Copenhagen for a reason: by 2025 this city plans to reduce its carbon footprint to... zero. And Denmark as a whole intends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 70% by 2030. If Scandinavian Fashion Weeks could boast with an interesting streetstyle before, this year's images of Danish fashionistas inspired by Greta Thunberg's speeches and Copenhagen's global environmental initiatives are twice interesting to look at.
This year at Copenhagen Fashion Week you may see sculptural bags, long shorts, straight trousers and lots of items in pastel tones. And seems like, only Danish people could love all shades of beige so much...
