Valentino showcase became the most anticipated event of the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Pierpaolo Piccioli was inspired by Richard Avedon and Guy Bourdin's portrait shots, canvases by the Italian Renaissance mannerist Rosso Fiorentino and paintings of Diana Vreeland. In each detail there's a master's hand – making of the long dress with floral appliqués required 990 hours, and a gown made of gauze squares took 2,010 hours.
